FUN FACTS ABOUT LAKELAND HIGHLANDS
1. We know your money is important to you. We take great care in researching every exspense our park incurs. It is this dedication and attention to detail that continues to allow us to have the lowest registration rates of any park in polk county. Why pay $100 for your 11-18 year olds to play baseball when we only charge $55.00. Why pay over $50 for your 3 or 4 year old to play ball when we only charge $20.00. Come find out how we can do so much more for so much less money...
2. Game nights are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.
3. Each team plays 2 games per week.
4. Our younger players in Instructional, T-Ball and Rookie start their games at 6:00pm. Our Minor and Major games start at 7:30pm. Our Prep games start at 7:15pm.
5. We have 6 fields including 60', 70' and 90' base paths so your child can start playing at 3 years old and remain at our park all the way to the age of 18.
6. All our coaches are certified by Babe Ruth/Cal Ripken.
7. All our board members, coaches, team parents and umpires must complete and pass a background check using the school board hiring process standards.
8. We have a raffle each season and give out raffle prizes at opening ceremonies.
9. We DO NOT do fundraisers throughout our season, we just play baseball.
10. As a county park there is never admission to attend our parks events.
11. We have the biggest variety of food at great prices so don't rush off to go eat. Come out, watch baseball and eat at the best concession stand in Polk County with the largest selection of your favorites...
12. We know that all our players do their best each year. So we make sure every player at LHBRB gets an award at the end of the year. (There is no extra costs for these awards).
13. Each player gets a Major league shirt/hat for our spring season and a college team shirt/hat for our fall season. Parents can buy shirts to match the players for $15.00.
Congrats to our T-Ball team who went to state in Sarasota, Rookie B who played in Ocala at Districts, Rookie A who played at state in Palm Beach Gardens, Minor B who played in Districts in Ocala, Major B team who played in districts in Ocala and Senior team who all played for the State Title in Tallahassee this year.
Our Minor A, Major A and Prep A team also played in districts locally.
All our teams did a great job representing our park and showing great sportsmanship. We look forward to even more accomplishments in 2012.
